Emmerdale star on being rejected from huge reality show after ‘worst’ audition
A former Emmerdale actor has revealed how he was turned down for a major reality television programme.
Alexander Lincoln rose to prominence portraying Jamie Tate on the ITV drama, first appearing in 2019. As the offspring of legendary character Kim Tate (Claire King), Jamie quickly won over audiences.
He was also involved in numerous significant plot lines throughout his time on the programme, including various conflicts, his strained bond with Kim, and becoming a father with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).
However, in 2021, actor Alexander departed the show, with Jamie last appearing after staging his own demise in a vehicle accident. Whilst his mother Kim believed he had perished, Jamie secretly relocated to live with his daughter Millie and her grandmother.

Following his television drama role, Alexander has maintained a busy schedule, featuring in programmes such as BBC’s Doctors, the comedy-drama Everything I Know About Love, and the critically acclaimed film In from the Side, reports the Daily Star.
Yet it emerges he nearly secured a place on ITV’s popular programme Dancing on Ice. Unfortunately, matters didn’t proceed as hoped for Alexander during his try-out.

In footage posted on Attitude’s Instagram account, Alexander disclosed: “I am terrible at ice skating. I did the worst, worst audition for Dancing on Ice once, in which I didn’t get it,” he continued. Reflecting on the audition, Alexander observed: “It wasn’t family-friendly enough.”
Alexander didn’t allow his Dancing on Ice rejection to discourage him, and his professional life has subsequently flourished.
This year, he landed a leading role in the groundbreaking Hollywood film, The Groomsmen: Second Chances, which is Hallmark Channel’s inaugural gay wedding story film.
